This account has been dormant for some time. I keep renewing it, hoping I become inspired to write again, hoping to find my muse. I’m done writing about my tarot deck, so what is left to tell?
Since I began my spiritual journey I’ve tried on many paths hoping to find one that fits. It’s not about making money. I don’t like to charge for cards. I’d prefer to just read for people, but I need the energy exchange closed, and payment does this. Or worse, people take advantage or they don't value the reading if it's perceived to be free or cheap. How do I get around this?
Don't get me wrong, I do understand people need to make a living by reading cards, reading spirit, providing reiki. Many of my favorite people charge a market rate for their readings. Does that mean if I charge less or not at all that I’m not taken seriously? That my readings aren’t as good as others that charge high fees? It's bothered me for a long time. I'm never sure what to say when someone in my inbox asks--how much?
The more and more I work with cards, the less and less I want to charge—but how do I close the circle? I’ve decided to give my sitters a choice. They can pay me a modest sum of their choosing, or they can complete a random act of kindness within 24hours. This honors the energy exchange that occurs during a reading, and gives the sitter an opportunity to decide how they want to complete the reading. It’s within their control, I’ve done my part. If they opt for kindness but then fail to follow through, they will find themselves in an unlucky streak until they do. In the last year since I've switched to this, only one person failed to complete the circle on their end, and never again will they take a promise so lightly.
I’ve started connecting to spirit, but again, this is not something I feel good charging for. When a loved one has a message, and they’ve decided to use me, it’s not something I feel I can deny. It’s an honor and a privilege…one I hold sacred. If I have a message from the other realm for you, I’m going to give it to you. I trust that spirit knows what’s needed.
I sometimes use spirit cards to help YOU connect with your loved one. These cards convey the message spirit wants you to know without any interpretation from me. I only draw the cards and send them. Whatever memories or thoughts/feelings come from concentrating your focus on these cards, is the message meant only for you. You’ll know, without a doubt, that it’s your loved one.
Things are changing for me as my spiritual journey expands to beyond what I believed possible. Meditation, sitting in the power, and grounding are all part of my path, and I’ll share these with you in future posts. Tarot is still a large part of my life, and it’s a very useful tool—but it’s no longer all I do.
